The Importance of Mental Health for Young Athletes

In collaboration with Gerard Dutton, owner of HPC and Athlete Development Coach at Westminster School, we are exploring the importance of mental health for young athletes this Mental Health Month.

Gerard’s top priority when coaching is to alleviate the pressure that student athletes experience. By cultivating a positive and supportive environment in the weight room, he ensures that training is enjoyable rather than an additional source of stress.

Ultimately, the focus is on developing a healthy mindset alongside a strong body.

Athletic Conditioning Workout to Push Limits Physically and Mentally.

The combination of simple conditioning machine work and loaded/unloaded athletic movements create a perfect environment to increase athletic performance.

Note:
1. Use whatever conditioning machine you have.
2. If you do not have access to a sled, replace with 8X broad jumps.
